Robert Carter chose to adopt five siblings in foster care, which required him to open his heart and home to strangers, but he knew that he had no choice but to help. Though it’s been a busy year for this Ohio father, he says that he wouldn’t do it any other way. While he’s just 30 years old, Carter claims that it’s beautiful to watch them grow together. His children include Makayla, 8; Marionna 12; Kiontae, 5; Giovanni, 6; and Robert, 10. They’re bonding a lot and often fall asleep in each other’s rooms while watching videos. Carter claims they motivate him, and he always thinks of them first and how his actions might affect them.

Robert says that his adoptive children keep him on the straight and narrow, and he believes that others should become parents through the foster care system. In fact, he reminds people that National Adoption Day is November 20!
