Carolina Klüft
This now retired Swedish track and field star was an Olympic Champion. Back in 2004, she won the heptathlon title. What’s most impressive may be the fact that she stands as the only athlete to win three consecutive world titles in 2003, 2005, and 2007 for the heptathlon. Oh and let’s not forget her nine consecutive gold wins in major championship games.

So while this amazing athlete did not quite make it to the all-around final, while her teammates Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman advanced, we are still astounded by her talent. At the London games she had placed fourth overall, which is nothing to sneer at. Plus, on top of that, she announced afterwards that she had competed despite an injury.
