When the show was looking for locations to film Beverly Hillbillies, Showrunner Paul Henning stumbled upon the Kirkeby Mansion. To film there, the crew only had to pay $500, but it later grew in value after the show was filmed there. Though it was sold after the show ended, the original mansion was torn down.
