As is often the case with top models, Boyd’s style became an inspiration for young women all over Britain. In 1966, Mary Quant said of the style back then: “Their aim is to look childishly young [and] naively unsophisticated, and it takes more sophistication to work out that look than those early would-be sophisticates ever dreamed of.”

While Boyd was at the peak of her fame, Boyd met George Harrison. At the time, his band, The Beatles were at the top of the charts and were taking over the world in what was called “Beatlemania.” She first met Harrison when The Beatles were filming their movie A Hard Day’s Night in 1964. The two immediately connected and knew that they had a future together.
