Thorne set up Dualstar Entertainment Group which helped the two become some of the wealthiest actresses in Hollywood. Since they were already co-presidents of the company at age 18, they were able to pivot away from acting and focus on their fashion empire, which they became more interested in as they grew up. The way Thorne created the company allowed for the Olsen twins to have full control, and even included a clause in the contract that gave them to veto Thorne’s creative ideas that they didn’t agree with.

Feeling Overworked
At a certain point, the twins began to feel like they were being overworked. They had insane schedules that saw them flying from location to location for filming, including places like Rome, Hawaii, Paris, and New York City. Thorne scheduled them to do back to back interviews. In an interview in the year 2000, Ashley said that at one point, he had scheduled 12 interviews for them in a single day. “Twelve is too many, Robert,” Ashley said. However, they seemed to make it work, with endless films, interviews, and product lines being released, all while they were also working on their schoolwork.
