In addition, he won $25,000 at Jeopardy!‘s Battle of the Decades and $100,000 at the Teachers Tournament. As far as what he did with the winnings, he bought his mother a new house. How sweet!

Ever wonder who writes college textbooks? Meet Mark M. Lowenthal! This 1988 Tournament winner won a total of $159,901 from the show. Oh wait, add $10,000 to that from the Battle of the Decades. Anyway, he co-authored the book with Jeopardy! champion Chuck Forrest called, Secrets of the Jeopardy! Champions and he wrote a college textbook on national security and intelligence. Besides his 5 books, he wrote more than 90 articles.
